Hack & Slash in the world of the Paperverse - Book of Demons takes place in the Paperverse, a world that exists entirely inside of a pop-up book. There's often just not enough time to click-remove all obstacles, such as monster shields, enemy spells, poison, or knocked cards, so timing, card selection and order of execution are critical. Unique Mechanics - Simplified movement and combat mechanics are what sets Book of Demons apart from most other hack & slash games. It even learns the pace of your gaming and predicts the time to complete the next session. Features the Flexiscope engine, which allows you to divide the game into sessions of any size. Tailored sessions with Flexiscope - Book of Demons respects your time. Legendaries are the most awesome, but hard to acquire. Cards can be upgraded with runes and you can find many variants with diverse bonuses. The strategy lies in adapting your hand to each situation. Save the terror-stricken Paperverse from the clutches of the Archdemon himself!Ĭards and Deckbuilding - Book of Demons is not a card game, but items, spells, and skills are all expressed as cards. Wield magic cards and slay the armies of darkness in the Old Cathedral dungeons. The cauldron is basically a risk vs reward mechanic.Book of Demons is a Hack & Slash Deck-building hybrid in which you decide the length of quests. Losing rewards by dying is irritating but not a huge deal in my opinion. Now when to buy is a tricky question, i'd say buy at least when you gathered 3 rewards or if you desperatly need the mana or health gathered inside. Rewards can be golden keys, gold, runes even extra health or mana points. when you buy the contents of the cauldron the next will be more expensive. when you die you loose all rewards inside it EXCEPT the health and mana points gathered. Each cap of ingredients gathered gives you an additional reward -diamond shaped with a question mark inside that you get to open when buying the contents of the cauldron- (for instance at least 1 ingredient gives you 1 reward then 2 rewards at 5 ingredients etc). On the other hand when you pick up "miscelaneous" items on the floor (no real purpose but the cauldron) also called ingredients they too go into it. At each level up you get to choose a health point or a mana point, when you choose one the other one goes into the cauldron.
